Lusty Argonian Maids!
Well, my post from a few days back about my Skyrim-porn-filled drafts sparked a good deal of interesting feedback, with pretty much a 50/50 split between POST IT ALL and DO NOT POST. What to do?
My response:
Yes, I have created an all-new Skyrim blog, strictly for the nsfw stuff. I have also removed all the nsfw stuff from this blog, so Life In Skyrim is now 100% work-safe Skyrim fun. Those of you who want the nsfw content, go follow there, those of you who don’t, just stay here.
(for the curious, you have a day or so before I start posting anything nsfw, so it IS work-safe for the moment. It will NOT stay that way. HERE.)
Hopefully, this setup works for everyone :)
How I Skyrim
I’ve had 3 different Skyrim gaming experiences; the first was my older, not-nearly-powerful-enough-for-Skyrim computer, so I lived for awhile with the graphics toned WAY back. Then I did a playthough on the Xbox, which was fun, but too vanilla, I missed the mods. Finally, I indulged in a custom-built, graphics-intensive gaming computer system with runs Skyrim at maximum resolution without batting an eye. Got my mods, got my graphics, it was more than worth it.
Mods, characters, etc
I’ve heard mixed opinions about using mods on Skyrim. Some people like them, some don’t. I try to stick with a smaller number of more “lore-friendly” ones myself, but I did have to cave in on the Tropical Skyrim mod, if for no other reason than it’s freaking gorgeous. Also, I can have my characters streak all I want and not get the feeling that they’re freezing their bits off.
Another mod I can’t praise enough: Live Another Life. For the player who enjoys giving their characters backstories, this one’s essential. Basically, for those unfamiliar, it allows you to skip the vanilla Helgen beginning of the game, and start in a variety of different places, different circumstances, etc., sidestepping the main questline completely until you’re ready to get more into it. I’ve just recently started two new characters using this, and it’s been great.
And, yeah, I suppose some things, like turning all the dragons into Macho Man Randy Savage, isn’t exactly lore-friendly either, but c'mon… it’s hella fun for a little while, anyway.
Hello Darlings,
I am the Wife of Life in Skyrim, and you can check out my posts via the WOLIS tag. I have not posted in quite awhile, because I haven’t played in quite awhile… you see, I started reading The Hobbit again and made a promise to myself that I wouldn’t play any Skyrim until I finished the book. Then I got distracted because I started playing Pokemon X again, a little bit obsessively… so I still have the last battle with Smaug before I finish the book… but then I got distracted from Pokemon by Animal Crossing, AND THEN…
…well, I renewed my WoW account. I’m sorry, guys, I have betrayed you, but I mean…
I play mostly Hordies on Wyrmcrest Accord and Bloodhoof, but I’ve got toons all over the place.
BUT I SWEAR I WILL GET BACK TO SKYRIM SOON~
If you guys have any questions for me about Skyrim or anything else really… send a message!
And thanks to all you awesome Skyrim fans out there, Life In Skyrim has just hit 1000 FOLLOWERS!! This is especially impressive when you consider I’ve never promoted or advertised this blog in any way; it’s built this following on nothing but tags and reblogs. So thank you, thank you all for following and being your amazing selves!!
My other blogs, however, I do promo from time to time, so here they are:
Aw Yeah Get Some Internet is my “main” blog, where I blog all my non-Skyrim stuff. It’s mostly silly Internet-related posts, but there is the occasional “serious” post with a healthy spattering of “things I think are pretty” posts. Then there’s lots about the Joker. Also some nudity, because the Internet.
Then there’s my newest one, Blog of the Rising Sun, a place for any diehard fans of the song “House of the Rising Sun”. It’s got a bunch of trivia and tidbits about the song’s mysterious origins as well as its many versions, plus a metric butt-ton of different recordings you can listen to, dating back nearly a century. If you love that song, you’ll love this blog (and yes, the new version from American Horror Story Coven is there).
Okay, that’s it, no more gratuitous self-promoting until at least 1500 followers.
Thanks again for following, and keep enjoying!
MY DAUGHTER, SINGING HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SKYRIM.
(and yes, she does say “fart Skyrim” because she’s 4 and why the hell not?)
(also, yes I know it’s not the best quality, my phone has many wonderful features but video recording is NOT one of them, but goddamn my daughter was singing happy birthday to Skyrim and it was adorable)
Every so often, I try out a new game.
I mean, other games do exist, so maybe I’ll find something I get into as much as Skyrim.
Today, I picked up Grand Theft Auto IV, and can’t help comparing the action level to Skyrim. I mean, in the first few minutes of Skyrim, playing as a character you design and name, you come within a hair of being beheaded, get attacked by a dragon, and have to escape the carnage of the dragon-ruined Helgen.
By contrast, so far in GTA IV, playing as some Russian dude, I’ve dropped a guy’s girlfriend off at her apartment. I drove my cousin around to a few places. Played with my cell phone. Oh, I also bought a shirt…
Tamriel is calling…
